Our little Millard family as been experiencing a lot of changes in the past few months. We are ever adapting to the new flow of life. We find ourselves vacillating between holding on with white knuckles to slowly breathing in the beautiful moments taking place around us.
For much of 2011, I was pregnant with our second baby, a little boy. Finally (finally! thank the sweet Lawd, finally!) he arrived on a beautiful October evening and immediately filled our hearts with so much love that they surely could have burst. William Wright was born at our home, in our bedroom, surrounded by people we love (and attended by a highly skilled Certified Nurse Midwife)-He was 8lbs, 12ozs of pure perfection. To date, it was the most beautiful, amazing experience of my and Kevin’s life.
Since William’s arrival into our family, life has been passing in a blur of diapers and baby laughs, sleep deprivation and absolute elation. Big sister Maggie is transforming from a toddler into a little girl—a little girl who firmly believes she is (in her words) “the princess of the world.” She is beautiful and innocent and kind hearted, and thankfully adores her little brother. She genuinely cares for others and loves so big for such a small little thing. I want to be like her when I grow up.
So far, parenthood seems to be the most valiant, beautiful and terrifying thing we have ever done. If you are a parent, you know exactly what I mean
The days are long and the years are short and you try so desperately to soak up all the goodness amidst all the crazy. It’s hard, but it’s wonderful. I feel like I’m the luckiest.
In the world of KMI Photography, we are gearing up for what is sure to be an amazing 2012! We are thrilled to be able to work with some wonderful couples this year; we always look forward to getting to know our brides and grooms! Bring on the Spring Weddings, we cannot wait!
I want to leave you with our past few months in pictures- these tell our story better than I can. I hope they make you smile.
